Wednesday will be a windy day for the entire KVOE listening area leading to the issuance of several advisories.
The National Weather Service has issued a fire weather watch for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties will go into effect at 11 am to 6 pm Wednesday. A separate watch for Chase and Greenwood counties also goes into effect at 11 am until 6 pm Wednesday.
A wind advisory is also in effect for Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties from 11 am to 6 pm Wednesday. A separate advisory for Chase and Greenwood counties also goes from 11 am to 6 pm Wednesday.
Wind gusts as high as 45 mph are possible with minimum humidity levels projected between 25 to 35 percent throughout the day. The high winds and low humidity will cause any fires that develop to spread rapidly.
Chase County has issued a burn ban through 8 am Friday. A burn ban is also in place for Osage County until 8 am Wednesday.
