Moderate drought has expanded across much of the KVOE listening area.
The US Drought Monitor has moderate drought across the southern half of Lyon County just south of Emporia, the north half of Greenwood County and most of Chase and Coffey counties. Far southeast Osage County is also affected.
The rest of the area is listed as abnormally dry.
For the last two weeks, moderate drought had been limited to Coffey County and far southeast Osage County.
The last rain for the area was Nov. 10. Area residents picked up anywhere from 0.30 to 0.60 inches of rainfall that day.
