Lyon County Commissioners will have several items of note coming before them for their weekly action session Wednesday.
Commissioners will first review the latest draft of Lyon County zoning regulations, recommended for approval by the Lyon County Planning and Appeals Board on Nov. 9. This is the fifth draft of the regulations which have been met with sharp criticism since the beginning of the regulation process.
A protest petition against the regulations has been circulating Lyon County in recent weeks.
Separately, the commission is also poised to continue conversations and potentially deliver a decision on its public health contract. Two organizations, Flint Hills Community Health Center and Newman Regional Health both submitted proposals for the contract after the county chose not to renew its contract with FHCHC for 2021 last month.
Lyon County Appraiser Ryan Janzen, County Engineer Chip Woods and District Court Administrative Judge Merlin Wheeler will also make presentations to the commission. Due to the ongoing spike in COVID-19 cases mask usage will be required for all who attend the meeting with attendance possibly being limited to adhere to social distancing guidelines.
The meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse and will be available for viewing on the county’s Facebook page.
