(ku) KU senior Marcus Garrett has been named to the National Basketball Coaches Assocition Division I Player of the Year Preseason Watch List. He is one of 20 players on the list.
Garrett is also on the Naismith Player of the Year Trophy Watch List, listed as one of The Athletic top 20 guards for 2020-21, received votes for the Associated Press preseason All-America team.
He is also on the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award watch list and was a unanimous Preseason All-Big 12 selection.
Garrett was the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year last season.
The Jayhawks are scheduled to open their season Thursday against number 1 ranked Gonzaga.
