Unfortunately, Lyon County is once again climbing the state list of overall cases per county in Kansas.
Lyon County Public Health lists 2,632 total cases since late March. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s number is 2,812 cases, meaning Lyon County is now 12th in cases per county. It had been 13th a week ago and as low as 15th. Lyon County is 17th in total population per county.
Based on stats from KDHE, Sedgwick County has passed Johnson County for most cases per county with almost 30,000. Johnson County has 29,300. Wyandotte County is the only other county above 10,000 cases with a little over 12,000.
Besides the traditionally reported stats — 2,632 overall cases, 255 active cases, 50 deaths and 16 hospitalizations in Friday’s report — Lyon County Public Health is reporting almost 21,500 cumulative tests among almost 9,400 county residents.
