Emporia Fire finished off a small fire in central Emporia on Saturday.
Firefighters were dispatched to 422 Arundel for an outbuilding fire around 5 pm. Battalion Chief Eron Steinlage says the main fire was out when a crew arrived a few minutes later. Firefighters investigated for hot spots afterward.
Steinlage says there was minimal damage to the exterior of the building, but the fire apparently did not extend inside. The cause is under investigation.
