The Lyon County Planning and Appeals Board has its monthly meeting this week.
Board members will get their first official look at 4 Rivers Electric Cooperative’s plan to build a solar energy facility in the 2700 block of Road M. 4 Rivers is one of 12 electric cooperatives in Kansas to partner with Today’s Power to build 20 “sun farms” across the state. The one near Americus would likely generate a megawatt of electricity and could be operating by late spring 2021 with County Commission approval.
Board members will also review the PlanELC joint city-county comprehensive plan.
The meeting starts at 7 pm Wednesday at the Lyon County Courthouse Annex.
