Diversicare of Council Grove is still working to slow down a coronavirus outbreak at the facility.
Diversicare currently has 50 residents infected by the virus, based on a statement late Tuesday on its website. The corporate office has not said how many staff are affected.
Diversicare has not provided a specific update to KVOE News on its current measures or next steps, but its website says its infection control measures comply with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Morris County Hospital, meanwhile, says it has been treating several Diversicare patients in part because Diversicare doesn’t have enough health staff to care for the impacted residents. The hospital is asking anybody with healthcare licensure to call the hospital at 620-767-5172 if they can help provide care.
Further updates from the hospital are pending as well at this time.
