Lyon County commissioners look like they will table any decision on zoning regulations until next year.
Commissioners may vote on that action during their board meeting Thursday morning. The current thought is to delay a decision until at least Jan. 21.
This comes with the County Commission’s Second District seat not yet formally filled after Dan Slater, who was not planning to seek another term, resigned his seat shortly after the general election last month. Doug Peck won the seat and has been awaiting a decision from Lyon County Republicans on whether he will be nominated to start his time on the commission early. The Republican convention is Dec. 15, and the party’s choice for succeeding Slater still needs approval by Governor Laura Kelly.
County commissioners have already tabled a decision recently, saying they wanted to have the Second District seat filled before moving forward on a decision.
In other business, commissioners will consider a remodeling adjustment in the County Appraiser’s Office and will have the annual employee recognition ceremony. Reports and four executive sessions are also planned.
The meeting is at 9 am at the County Courthouse.
