The Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas will have a Board of Directors meeting early Friday.
The lead item on the agenda is a Community Improvement District application for what’s being called the Flint Hills Crossing development. This would involve the so-called DeBauge-Krueger tract on the west side of Graphic Arts between Interstate 35 on the south and 18th Avenue on the north. RDA President Kent Heermann says the current plan is for a gas station-convenience store travel plaza on less than 10 acres. The entrance will align with the Flint Hills Technical College’s southern entrance leading to the Jones Education Center and an access road will be built to connect with the north roundabout linking I-35 to the Kansas Turnpike and US Highway 50 if the project moves ahead.
In addition, monthly reports and an executive session are planned.
The meeting is at 7 am at the Trusler Business Center.
