The Emporia High girls and Topeka Seaman boys earned wins Friday night.
The Emporia High girls basketball team out scored Topeka Seaman 49-29.
The Lady Spartans out score Seaman 39-15 in the second half.
Lady Spartan Coach Carolyn Dorsey said the run began in the 2nd quarter.
Rebecca Snyder scored a team high 14 points and had 9 rebounds to lead the Lady Spartans. The Emporia High girls are now 2-1 for the season.
Topeka Seaman won the boys game 54-42. Seaman closed out the game on a 17-8 run to seal the win.
The Spartans used a 5-0 run to start the 4th quarter to get with in a basket at 37-35.
Emporia High Coach Beau Welch was pleased with the way they battled.
Chance Gilpin led the Spartans in scoring with 17 points.
The Spartans are now 0-2.
Both the Emporia High girls and boys are scheduled to play at Topeka High Tuesday.
