An Emporia woman and Hartford man have been arrested allegedly in connection with a stolen vehicle, stolen firearms and illegal drugs.
Police Sgt. Lisa Hayes says Emporia Police found a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of the Budget Host Inn, 1830 East US Highway 50, on Sunday. They obtained a search warrant and searched one of the rooms, allegedly finding stolen firearms as well as methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Hayes says the vehicle was stolen from a rental car company in Wichita, while the firearms were stolen as part of a burglary in Otoe County, Nebraska.
Mariel Martin, age 35, and Wyatt Everly, age 30, have been arrested on suspicion of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of stolen property. Formal charges are pending.
