Lebo swept Hartford with back-to-back wins on the Area Game of the Week Thursday night.
The Lady Wolves picked up their fourth win of the season with a 46-26 victory over the lady Jaguars in the girl’s half of action. Hartford opened the scoring early in the first quarter before an 11-5 run gave Lebo a lead they’d never relinquish.
Lebo went on to outscore the Lady Jaguars in every quarter en-route to their 20 point victory.
Lebo was led in scoring by sophomore Brooklyn Jones with 14 points. Assistant Coach Jamie Moore says they managed to overcome a slow start to the game to get the win.
He says they need to control the tempo for all four quarters.
Hartford was led in scoring by junior Reagan Darbyshire with 11 points. Lebo now improves to 4-1 on the season while Hartford falls to 0-2.
In the boy’s game, Lebo overcame a slow start to defeat Hartford 60-29.
Lebo never trailed in the game, however, Hartford kept it close in the first quarter trailing by only seven 14-7 at the end of the first. Lebo would begin to pull away in the second thanks to a 19-8 run giving the wolves a 33-15 lead at the half.
In the second, Lebo would outscore Hartford 18-10 in the third quarter and 9-4 in the fourth en-route to their fifth straight win on the year.
Lebo was led by senior Devan McEwen with 35 points on the night.
Coach Dwayne Paul called McEwen an “elite” player.
Hartford was led by sophomore Shayden Shull with 10 points.
Lebo now improves to 5-0 on the season as Hartford drops to 1-4.
Fridays featured games on Country 101.7, Chase County hosts Lyndon. Coverage begins with the girls game with tip-off set for 6 pm.
