Much of Friday will be windy.
In fact, a wind advisory is up for Lyon and all surrounding counties from 10 am to 2 pm. Southerly winds could be steadily at 20-30 mph, and gusts at or above 45 mph are possible as well.
This will elevate the fire danger for much of the day. The National Weather Service says this could also result in power outages, downed tree limbs, travel difficulties for high-profile vehicles like large commercial trucks and damage to holiday decorations.
