Grace United Methodist Church had its first-ever HamGiving on Saturday. The food giveaway started earlier than planned, but Pastor Brenda Ulrich says there was a reason for that.
Hams, stuffing — courtesy of First United Methodist Church — and potatoes, courtesy of a church member, were all spoken for in about 30 minutes.
Ulrich says the socially-distanced giveaway was successful, in part because of the traffic flow. Residents were lined up “like a drive-in theater or Arrowhead Stadium,” letting volunteers load up the vehicles. Ulrich also says people were patient as the event continued.
