17th District Senator Jeff Longbine may no longer officially be part of Senate leadership, but he’s chairing two committees he’s familiar with and wanted to lead.
Senate President Ty Masterson appointed Longbine to lead the Financial Institutions and Insurance committees, two committees he had led for several years since being elected to the chamber in 2010. Longbine was also appointed to the Federal and State Affairs committees, another committee he requested on which to serve.
Longbine chose not to run for re-election to Senate Vice President with Senate leadership taking a more conservative turn.
Committee appointments in the House have not yet been made public.
