New coronavirus cases went up more than they did for this past weekend in Lyon County’s most recent reporting period, but the increase tracks along with recent numbers.
New cases went up 58 between Monday and Wednesday, on par with the 50-80 new case increases seen with the reporting periods so far this month. Active cases dipped by 11 and are now at 112, the lowest the county has had since Oct. 28, when there were 111.
Unfortunately, the death toll rose by two and is now at 57. Another three deaths are awaiting final cause from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
Under most circumstances, the next report would be Friday. However, with Christmas on that date, Lyon County will have new data Monday.
