People needing to renew their driver’s licenses have extra time to do so.
This week, Governor Laura Kelly announced the renewal deadline is now extended from Jan. 26 to June 30, giving residents more time to work around the coronavirus pandemic to handle that task.
The executive order also extends a provision that lets residents ages 21-64 renew online through www.iKan.ks.gov. Service fees are being covered by the state as a way to direct people online and reduce community spread of coronavirus.
This comes with the Emporia driver’s license office inside Flinthills Mall still closed due to suspected COVID exposure until at least Monday. Residents who had appointments canceled are asked to email KDOR_EmporiaDL@ks.gov to reschedule those visits. Office staffers are also reaching out to customers to reschedule appointments.
