Slick conditions are expected across the KVOE listening area Tuesday morning.
Winter weather advisories are up areawide. Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in an advisory from 6 am to 1 pm Tuesday. Chase and Greenwood counties are in a separate advisory from 3-11 am Tuesday.
Light snow should begin early Tuesday. That will change to freezing rain and sleet before closing out as rainfall. TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers anticipates some slippery conditions, but he says it shouldn’t last long.
Early indications are up to an inch of snowfall, a tenth of an inch of icing and anywhere from half an inch to 1.25 inches of rainfall could be coming to the area Tuesday. There is a chance of a secondary wintry mix episode early Wednesday, but projections on that event are still pending.
