A preliminary hearing is coming Monday afternoon for an Emporia man accused in an alleged shooting and home invasion robbery incident from over two months ago.
Kenneth Hopkins was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and one of aggravated robbery after an 18-year-old man was shot near Linn and Whildin either late Oct. 27 or Oct. 28. The man survived. There was also an alleged robbery at 9 South Rural.
Hopkins’ hearing is at 3 pm in Lyon County District Court.
Two other suspects in the case, 24-year-olds Marcos Diaz and Lance Sutton, remain at large and are considered armed and dangerous by Emporia Police. Diaz is an Hispanic male, 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds, while Sutton is a black male, 6-1 and 170 pounds.
