Street conditions vary as we start the weekend after our first accumulating snowfall of the season.
In Emporia, major arterials are seasonal with some slick spots after they were bladed during much of Friday’s snowfall and then treated again Friday night with concerns of a refreeze. Residential collector streets and side streets are slick Saturday morning.
Kandrive.org says highway conditions have improved after all major highways were completely snow- and ice-covered for much of Friday. Seasonal driving conditions await Saturday morning.
No injury crashes were reported across the KVOE listening area Friday.
Road conditions should improve again Saturday as highs climb to the mid-30s under cloudy skies. Freezing could happen again Saturday night with overnight lows near 20 and patchy freezing fog expected. Sunday’s high is expected in the low 40s, which should clear most snow-related road issues.
