The Emporia State University Men dominated Newman 76-42 Saturday afternoon.
An early 14 point run in the first half would establish a lead the Hornets would never relinquish as they took a 15 point lead into the half 38-23. In the second, ESU would continue to dominate leading by as many as 36 at one time as the Hornets picked up their fifth win of the season.
ESU had three players in double digits including Juhma’Ri Turner with 21 points. He says he and his teammates are grateful for every opportunity they have to step on the court.
Gage McGuire ended the night with 15 points off the bench. He credited his success to the support of his teammates.
Austin Downing ended the night with 10 points. Head Coach Craig Doty says they’re playing well heading into the new year.
The Emporia State Men now improve to 5-1 on the season. They’ll next face Rogers State on Monday.
