The steady increase in active COVID-19 cases has reversed course for the moment.
Lyon County Public Health reported 58 new cases Friday bringing the overall total to 3,452 cases since mid-March. With 81 new recoveries reported the active caseload decreased from 199 Wednesday to 175 Friday.
One new death was reported bringing the death toll to 65 with three cases pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Active hospitalizations remained at 10.
Elsewhere in the KVOE listening area:
*Coffey County announced 12 new cases Friday bringing the overall total to 513 since March. With 16 new recoveries reported the active case number decreased from 31 to 27. The number of deaths remained steady at 11.
