Osage County continues its steady increase in coronavirus cases.
The county health department announced 49 new cases between Monday and Thursday, pushing the county overall total to 798 — the second-highest area total behind Lyon County. Active cases went from 61 to 78, while the death toll remained at eight.
Osage County has added almost 250 cases since Dec. 7.
Greenwood County’s most recent report Wednesday indicated a smaller increase with 11 new cases to set the overall total at 516 cases. Active cases dipped from 81 to 77 and deaths stayed at two.
Wabaunsee County, meanwhile, added 18 new cases between Monday and Wednesday. The active cases dropped from 64 to 55, but another death was reported to put the county total at 10.
Lyon, Coffey and Greenwood counties are set to update their numbers Friday.
