Sentencing is ahead for the third co-defendant in a shooting incident from last summer.
Edgar Gilberto Gonzalez, Jr., accepted plea agreements on three different cases Wednesday, two of which were connected. Gonzalez pleaded to aggravated burglary and aggravated battery after an incident where a woman was shot at 1213 Beverly last June. He also pleaded to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in an August case connected to the June incident, according to prosecutors. On top of that, he pleaded to a count of criminal damage in an unrelated incident last March.
Other charges in these cases were dropped.
In the shooting incident, Gonzalez’s co-defendants have already been sentenced. Last month, William Walters was sentenced late last month to 44 months in prison. This past Monday, Hector Velazquez received 46 months in prison. Both accepted pleas on single counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.
