Water service should be fully restored soon to residents near Reading after a water main break recently.
Water was shut down Monday evening after leakage was noticed in a creek crossing near the town. Between 20 to 30 customers along Road 240 near Roads W and Y have been impacted, both by the initial shutdown and a related shutdown Tuesday morning to replace a valve and possibly conduct other maintenance.
It took about two hours for water service to be largely restored Monday night. Lyon County Rural Water District No. 5 anticipates all necessary repairs should be done by late afternoon.

Residents near Reading may notice a shutoff in their water supplies Tuesday morning.
Water was shut down Monday evening after leakage was noticed in a creek crossing near the town. It took about two hours for water service to be largely restored, although at least one resident has said her service had not returned after being offline since around 7:30 pm Monday.
Lyon County Rural Water District No. 5 says the water will have to go back offline at some point Tuesday to replace a valve and possibly conduct other maintenance work in the area. Additional details are currently pending.
