Yet another local agency is taking their annual meeting virtual this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Lyon County Conservation District will hold its meeting at 1 pm next Monday via Zoom. During KVOE’s Morning Show Monday, spokesperson Mallory Burton joined the program and explained the Conservation District works to help landowners and ag producers in the local area with environmental concerns.
Burton also discussed the upcoming meeting next week during which time the district will receive its annual financial report, vote on officers and recognize their annual award winners.
This year’s award winners are as follows:
Banker’s Award: Darryl DeLong
Friend of Conservation: Bob Karr
Young Conservationist Award: Brynn Fisher and Jacqueline Leffler
The Conservation District operates under the umbrella of the US Department of Agriculture in partnership with numerous local boards and agencies including the Lyon County Commission and Lyon County Extension Office just to name a few.
