The Emporia Community Foundation has announced its grant recipients for the latest award cycle.
*$8,000 is going to Project Playscape for the Americus baseball and recreation complex
*$6,000 is going to the Emporia Senior Center to replace equipment and furniture
*$6,000 is going to CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness for its Evergreen home
*$5,000 is going to the Chase County Old School Development District to renovate a workroom
The Community Foundation’s Grants Committee chose award winners for what it calls innovative projects or programs that meet changing needs in areas of community health, social service, education, recreation and cultural affairs.
Separately, the Grants Committee announced two grants from Chase County as part of its Flint Hills Community Fund:
*Over $2,500 is going to USD 284 Chase County for materials and training to help students battling dyslexia
*Almost $1,700 is going to the Strong City Preservation Alliance for ongoing improvements to the Opera House.
