The Emporia High boys and girls wrestling teams go to Basehor-Linwood for duels with Basehor-Linwood and DeSoto Wednesday.
One of the surprises for the Emporia High girls has been Hannah Boa at 143 pounds. She is coming off a 1st place finish at Independence.
Boa is an exchange student from Denmark.
She says everyone has been friendly.
She says she got involved with wrestling thanks to her host family.
She says she will always remember that first win.
Wednesday is the final duel before regionals for the Emporia High girls. Boa says her focus is on improving.
The Emporia High girls currently ranked 8th in girls Division I.
