The Emporia High girls basketball team was outscored by Goddard Eisenhower 45-37 in the opening round of the Glaciers Edge Tournament Thursday night.
Eisenhower used an 18-0 run in the 2nd quarter to build a lead they would not give up. The Emporia High girls did cut the lead to 4 in the 4th quarter but could get no closer.
Emporia High Coach Carolyn Dorsey was disappointed with the loss.
Gracie Gilpin led Emporia High with a game-high 18 points, making 6 three-point shots.
The Lady Spartans will play Hutchinson Friday evening with tipoff at 6 pm at Emporia High. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
