The Emporia High boys lost at Washburn Rural 63-55 Friday night.
The Spartans jumped out to a 4-0 lead but would trail most of the night. Rural led 19-11 at the end of the first quarter, 28-22 at halftime and 45-41 going to the 4th quarter.
The Spartans will look to bounce back Tuesday when they play at Highland Park.
