The Emporia State Lady Hornets scored the games first 9 points and never trailed on the way to a 79-61 win over Missouri Western Tuesday night.
The Lady Hornets led 25-11 at the end of the first quarter and 45-26 at halftime. In the first half Karsen Schultz was 5 of 10 from the 3 point line and had 17 points. She would finish with 20 points on the night.
Ehlaina Hartman scored a game-high 23 points.
Tre’Zure Jobe finished with 11 points. Emily Weathers scored 9 points and had a game-high 10 rebounds. The Lady Hornets led by as many as 28 points in the 4th quarter.
After making 9 three-point shots in the 1st half the Lady Hornets made only 4 in the 2nd half.
Coach Toby Wynn said they were able to score in other ways.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improve to 10-3 on the season.
They will return to White Auditorium on Thursday to host Northeastern State.
The Emporia State men will also play Northeastern on Thursday.
Students, cheerleaders, and the Hornet Revue will be allowed to attend the game.
