Limited numbers of coronavirus vaccines will now come to more nationally-known pharmacies as part of a federal program.
The Federal Retail Pharmacy Program has already sent vaccines to CVS and Walgreens, with those doses geared towards residents and staff in long-term care facilities. Now Walmart and Kroger, the parent company of Dillons, will start having doses available beginning Monday.
The federal program is a collaboration between the government, states and territories and 21 national pharmacy partners or independent pharmacy networks. Word on local vaccine availability is currently pending.
