Farmers Market Manager Jessica Hopkins is stepping down.
Hopkins hasn’t given a timetable or a reason for her decision, although in a statement on the Farmers Market blog she says plans to still be involved in market activities.
Hopkins replaced Tracy Simmons in 2016.
Indoor markets will continue at Waters Hardware. Hopkins also says there will be a second round of CSA Market Box giveaways resulting from city grant funding. The Farmers Market also will work with Lyon County Extension and Emporia Public Library for take-home recipe kits next month.
The manager position is part-time and year-round, overseeing markets in Emporia, Allen and Olpe, with administration, promotion and community outreach the main focal points. Bookkeeping experience is preferred, with grant-writing and fundraising experience desired.
Inquiries, resumes and references can be emailed to emporiafm@gmail.com by Feb. 12.
