Congressman Tracey Mann is looking forward to his committee assignments.
Mann replaces Roger Marshall in the House after Marshall went from the House to Senate. Mann also takes over Marshall’s old seat on the House Agriculture Committee.
Mann was also named to the Veterans Affairs Committee. He says the federal government has made some progress on matters like healthcare but it needs to do more and it needs to reduce red tape whenever possible. He also says the government needs to focus on making the transition into post-military careers as smooth as possible.
Mann joined KVOE’s Newsmaker segment earlier this week and discussed a range of items, including the ongoing accusations the presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump through election inaccuracies.
Mann sidestepped a question asking whether election security matters were resolved to his satisfaction.
With President Joe Biden issuing a flurry of executive actions over the last few weeks, Mann has introduced what he calls the MANN Acts for Making Action Necessary Now.
Policy matters like agriculture, natural resources, immigration, pro-life legislation and Second Amendment matters would fall under the MANN Acts if approved.
On COVID-19 matters, Mann says the federal government needs to focus on getting people back to work and kids back in schools. He says a third focal point, getting people vaccinated who want the medications, will connect directly to the other two items.
