Emporia Police officers say a rural Emporia man and an Alden man were involved in Tuesday’s injury crash in west Emporia.
Police Sgt. Lisa Hayes says a pickup driven by 18-year-old Sebastian Blankley of rural Emporia was westbound on US Highway 50. Blankley went left of center for unlisted reasons near the Graham Street intersection and collided head-on with an eastbound semi driven by 36-year-old Jon Darling of Alden.
Emporia Fire extricated Blankley and took him to Newman Regional Health with leg injuries. Darling was not hurt. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts when the crash happened.
Officers are still investigating the crash.
