USD 251 North Lyon County is investigating an allegation of discrimination, although it’s not expanding on the situation being investigated.
In a statement emailed to KVOE News, Superintendent Bob Blair said the district is “unable to discuss confidential student matters” as a way to protect student privacy rights. Blair says the district takes all allegations of discrimination seriously, regardless of the nature. The district will investigate all such complaints, Blair says, and will “respond meaningfully” to any discrimination report.
The district is not confirming whether the alleged discrimination dealt with a teenager who allegedly said she was a lesbian on a district bus and was allegedly banned from riding afterward, according to Topeka media.
