Emporia’s Simmons Pet Food plant is making adjustments due to the recent bout of extreme cold.
Spokesperson Julie Maus tells KVOE News production has been temporarily interrupted due to the weather and resulting “energy constraints.” Packaging lines continue to run at this time.
Maus says Simmons, Emporia’s largest employer, is monitoring conditions and plans to resume normal schedules as soon as possible when the energy and weather situations improve. She also says company management appreciates the work of team members who have been working despite what she calls challenging conditions.
