It took close to a week, but Madison-area residents can now use their water without boiling it.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has rescinded the advisory for Greenwood County Rural Water District No. 3 in place since the weekend.
A water line broke near Madison Lake on Saturday, causing a loss of water pressure and an increased risk of bacterial contamination. KDHE found no issues with the samples transported from Greenwood County on Monday.
