If you felt some minor jostling around 8 am Friday, there was a reason for that.
Parts of far north-central Oklahoma dealt with a magnitude 4.8 earthquake just before 8 am. Five reports of weak to light shaking were reported in Emporia, about 160 miles from the epicenter near Manchester, Oklahoma. Reports of weak shaking also came in from Americus and Council Grove.
No damage has been reported locally. Damage reports near the epicenter and elsewhere are pending.
