The Emporia Community Foundation’s annual Match Day is now on the calendar through 2026.
The Community Foundation Board approved a five-year extension as part of its meeting Friday. Director Becky Nurnberg says the fundraiser has seen increasing success over the past seven years, including last year’s record of over $322,000 despite COVID-19.
Over the past seven years, Match Day has generated over $1.4 million.
This year’s Match Day, the eighth annual for the fundraiser, will be Nov. 15. Like last year’s event, which saw a format adjustment due to COVID-19, giving will be done online at www.emporiacf.org and at the Community Foundation office, 527 Commercial. Five charitable foundations, the Clint Bowyer 79 Fund, Jones Testamentary Trust, Preston Family Trust, Reeble Foundation and Trusler Foundation.
Twenty-five groups from Lyon County and all surrounding counties will be chosen for Match Day. Applications start soon. The deadline is March 26, with partners announced in late April.
