Limited damage followed a sprinkler head issue in an east Emporia apartment complex Friday afternoon.
The incident took place in the west building at the Whittier Place complex, 1200 Whittier, around 4 pm.
Emporia Fire responded as a public service call. Battalion Chief Ryan Conley says a sprinkler head malfunctioned, affecting one apartment. No evacuations were reported afterward.
The cause is currently undetermined, but there have been several water line issues over the past week due to bitter cold conditions.
