The Emporia High girls basketball team led from the beginning on the way to a 50-29 win over Topeka Hayden Monday night.
Gracie Gilpin and Allie Baker led the offense scoring 14 points each. Both made 4 three-point shots as the Lady Spartans connected on 11 threes.
Emporia High Coach Carolyn Dorsey said she was glad to see the offense but it was the defense that made the difference.
The Emporia High girls are now 13-6 for the season 10-4 in the Centennial League and have wrapped up 3rd place in the league. They close out the regular season Friday at home against Topeka Seaman.
The Emporia High boys play at Topeka Hayden Tuesday night.
Spartan Coach Beau Welch says the big key to winning this game will to be strong in the 4th quarter.

Varsity tip-off is set for 7:30p. The game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
