Emporia States Tre’Zure Jobe has been named the MIAA womens basketball player of the week. Karen Santiago Sanchez has been named the MIAA womens tennis player of the week.
Jobe averaged 21 points, 4 assists and 2.5 steals per game as the Lady Hornets went 2-0 last week. She scored 24 points in Emporia States win over Northwest Missouri and followed that with 18 points, six assists and three steals in ESUs win over Missouri Western. She is the leading scorer in the MIAA and the only player in the league averaging over 20 points per game headed into the final week of the season.
Karen Santiago Sanchez won at number 1 singles 6-2, 7-6, and at number 2 doubles 6-0 in the season-opening duel at Tabor.
