Part of West Sixth Avenue constricted after a water main break a month ago is now back to normal speed and normal configuration.
A 12-inch line failed in the middle of West Sixth at the Elm Street junction on Jan. 21. This forced the city to have westbound traffic move to the eastbound inside lane and eastbound traffic to use the eastbound outside lane for several weeks, largely due to weather conditions.
The area is the southern part of a construction zone as the city replaces the water line along Elm from Sixth north to Newman Regional Health. However, the line was not ready for replacement when it failed.
