The Emporia High girls basketball team closed out the regular season with a 37-29 win over Topeka Seaman Friday night.
Coach Carolyn Dorsey said it was not pretty but it was a win.
Emporia High made only 2 field goals in the 2nd half but made 18 of 24 free throws.
Gracie Gilpin led the offense with 16 points.
The Lady Spartans finish the regular season on a 7 game winning streak.
Topeka Seaman won the boys game 48-32.
After leading 13-12 after the 1st quarter Emporia High struggled to score the rest of the night.
Coach Beau Welch said the inability to score cost them.
Charles Snyder was the leading scorer, finishing with 17 points for the Spartans.
Up next is sub-state. The girls will host Newton Tuesday night. The boys play at Topeka Seaman Wednesday night.
