A pedestrian suffered minor injuries after he was hit by a pickup in the heart of downtown Emporia on Monday morning.
According to Emporia Police Officers on scene, a pedestrian was walking southbound through the crosswalk at the intersection of Sixth and Commercial. At the same time, a Chevy Silverado pickup truck was preparing to turn east onto Sixth and did not see the pedestrian.
The vehicle struck the individual, however, officers say the pedestrian suffered no major injuries and walked away from the accident.
Eastbound traffic on Sixth was briefly blocked at Commercial. No other travel issues were reported.
