The Kansas City Royals and third baseman Hunter Dozier have agreed to a four-year contract extension, the team announced on Monday. The agreement also includes a fifth-year team option.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but a source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand that it is worth $25 million with the fifth-year option valued at $10 million, along with escalators and bonuses that could max it out at $49 million over the five years. ESPN’s Jeff Passan was the first to report the contract terms.
In spring training baseball the Kansas City Royals outscored the Cleveland Indians 8-6 Monday.
