The Emporia High girls basketball cruised into the substate finals with a 62-16 win over Newton Tuesday night.
The Lady Spartans jumped out to an 18-7 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
Emporia High Coach Carolyn Dorsey was pleased with the way they played.
Gracie Gilpin led Emporia High in scoring with 21 points. Rebecca Snyder added 18 points.
The Lady Spartans have now won 8 in a row. They will host Topeka Seaman Friday for a spot in the 5A State tournament. Topeka Seaman defeated Topeka West 60-33.
