The rate of new COVID-19 cases is continuing to diminish greatly in Lyon County.
In its latest data set Friday, Public Health announced just two new cases since Wednesday raising the overall total just slightly to 4,093. Eight new recoveries were also reported dropping the active case total to 25.
Deaths remained steady at 81 with two cases pending final cause information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Active hospitalizations also remained steady at three.
Elsewhere in the KVOE listening area:
Greenwood County reported two new cases and one new death Friday. This brings the county’s overall total to 589 cases since last March and the death count to eight.
The active case number dipped from five to three between reporting periods.
